  • Division according to design

  • Generally, fans are divided into two types: Axial and Radial. Axial fans are used wherever high volume flows are conveyed in conjunction with low pressures. The design is similar to that of a propeller. It draws in the air axially (via the motor axis) and also blows it out again axially.

Radial fans are used at higher pressures and are comparable to a drum. The air is drawn in parallel or axially to the drive axis of the radial fan and is deflected by the rotation of the radial impeller through 90° and blown out radially. Radial fans can achieve much higher pressures than axial fans with the same outer wheel diameter and the same speed.

POLLRICH is your contact for radial fans.
