  • How is pressure defined?

  • In general, local pressures occurring at fluid machinery are always measured, calculated and considered as pressure differences to the atmosphere. The generally valid designation is "p". Absolute pressures are used exclusively in the equation of state of gases and for pressure ratios. A distinction is made between static pressure, dynamic pressure, total pressure and the pressure difference.
